Studio Friction is a 501(c)7 nonprofit social club. Our board of directors are Mary, Diana, Nate, Mike, and Sarah. Each person on the board brings something special to the table. Studio Friction is a rope-centered, non-normative, welcoming, polished and modern environment for learning, exploration, practice, play, and performance. We are a 501(c)7 nonprofit social club, all funds collected through membership dues and event entry go straight back into the studio. We strive create a place of safety, trust, freedom, and connection where you can open new awareness, develop mastery, and engage the body, mind, and emotions. Come co-create the future of rope artistry, craft, and play with us.

We have a large, and bold vision for Studio Friction... we see this as the beginning of something new in the Denver rope community - a place to incubate the future of the art of Kinbaku, where, truly, all enthusiasts of rope are welcome. We will be consciously creating a culture of inclusion and openness.

The Denver rope scene has been growing for years. Existing classes are full and crowded on a regular basis, BED brought bringing attention and awareness to the greater community this past September, and more and more people are saying they want to learn, gain mastery and practice in a safe and beautiful environment.

That is why we are creating Studio Friction. It's time we have a dedicated rope and aerial space where we can host open labs, workshops, partner events, performances, gatherings, and more.
