 Studio Friction Anti - Discrimination and Harassment Policy

It is the policy and practice of Studio Friction to maintain and foster an environment in which all members and guests are treated with decency and respect. Accordingly, Studio Friction has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of discrimination and harassment. No form of discrimination or harassing conduct towards any member, guest, instructor, volunteer, or other person in the studio or at an event hosted by the studio will be tolerated. 

This policy applies to and prohibits all forms of harassment and discrimination, not only sexual harassment. Accordingly, Studio Friction prohibits harassment or discrimination based on sex, age, disability, appearance, gender (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, race, religion, national origin, or any other legally protected characteristic or class.

By attending an event at the studio, you indicate that you understand and agree that if you engage in any harassing or discriminatory behavior while at Studio Friction or at a Studio Friction-hosted event, as defined in this agreement, you will be asked to leave the Studio Friction premises or the event hosted by Studio Friction. You understand that you may be subject to the consequences as outlined above.

** Note - If you have been the subject to harassment or mistreatment by anyone, be it a member, leader, instructor or board member of or at Studio Friction, please contact the Concerns Committee to report the issue at office@studiofriction.com

Terms: 

Harassment is defined as:  behavior that demeans, humiliates, or embarrasses a person, and it is characteristically identified by its unlikelihood in terms of social and moral reasonableness. (examples: derogatory jokes, racial slurs, personal insults, and expressions of disgust or intolerance)

Discrimination is defined as: the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people (examples: sex, age, disability, appearance, sexual orientation, race, religion, national origin)
