Autism & Sex:
Unmasking Intimacy
We’ve all heard how sex should look like, how sex is supposed to be like. Most of us were taught that good sex is spontaneous, effortless, full of chemistry, and that partners should instinctively know what the other person wants. But that script doesn't work for everyone.
Autism can shape the way people experience attraction, desire, touch, communication, pleasure, and relationships in ways that are rarely talked about…and are often misunderstood.
Why do some autistic people crave intense sensation while others avoid touch altogether? Why can autism sometimes be mistaken for asexuality, hypersexuality, or low desire? And what actually helps create intimacy that feels good instead of overwhelming?
In this interactive workshop, we'll separate myths from research and explore how autism can influence sexuality, relationships, and sexual communication. We'll discuss sensory differences, desire, routines, communication, consent, and practical ways to create intimacy that works for you rather than trying to fit someone else's definition of normal.
Whether you're autistic, questioning, partnered with someone who is, or simply curious about neurodiversity and relationships, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of autistic sexuality, and a new way of thinking about what satisfying intimacy can look like.
