This two-day intensive blends rope fundamentals, suspension skills, and body awareness into a shared exploration of how rope works and how it feels. We’ll dig into friction, tension, stems, V-ing structures, and load paths to better understand what makes harnesses solid and how different loading choices change both stability and sensation. Just as importantly, we’ll look at how engagement and connection can start from the very first wrap, turning the build-up into an active, intentional part of the scene rather than dead time before suspension.

Across both days, tops and bottoms will explore how bodies move in the air, looking at alignment, torsion, hip movement, momentum, and three-dimensional space. Bottoms will learn key ways to engage their bodies for smoother and safer scenes. We’ll play with transitions, multiple uplines, and small adjustments that create big changes in feeling and expression. The material will be taught fluidly rather than in a fixed order, with space to experiment, adapt familiar ties, and develop suspension scenes that feel grounded, dynamic, and connected.

Prerequisites:

Tops:

• Must know suspension worthy chest harness that can load from the back and the side. 
• Must know one leg suspendable harness (example futomomo, Dragonback, etc). 
• Must have experience moving multiple uplines. Bottoms must know body awareness and communication.

About the Instructors:

EM (he/him)

Based in Memphis, TN, -EM- has been an active part of the kink scene since 2010. Known for a sharp edge and a sharp tongue, he brings a no-nonsense, high-impact teaching style that blends blunt honesty with a dark sense of humor. Specializing in rope bondage and whips, -EM- enjoys exploring the edge of physical and psychological endurance with technical precision. He has taught across the U.S. and Europe, drawing from a diverse background of training with internationally respected educators. Whether you are looking to deepen your skills or sadism, -EM- offers a direct, hands-on education that leaves an impression.

Nirathekitten (she/her)

Nirathekitten (she/her) is a rope loving, latex wearing, often bloody, switch and self-player who joined the larger kink community in 2018 while living in Michigan. Now located in Western NC, she dedicates a large portion of her time volunteering for her local community, sharing her passion for education, and co-leading Asheville Rope Academy. Between getting tangled in rope, causing trouble with sharp things, torturing partners, or intriguing sadists, it can safely be assumed that she will be found further proving that 'mind over matter' is more than just an expression.
