Body Bamboo Harness

Have you been looking for that extra twist to add to your suspensions? Searching for that extra leverage to bend your partner a little further? Wanting to utilize bamboo in more dynamic suspensions? In this advanced body bamboo harness class we’ll explore how to incorporate a piece of bamboo into a chest harness that’s able to withstand dynamic suspensions and be loaded from the ends of the bamboo in the harness (non central loading points). This opens the door for added torsions, extra bends, new ways to move the body, new shapes, and a hell of a lot of fun. We’ll be covering the harness pattern, how to attach uplines to the harness/bamboo, a sequence that utilizes the unique advantages of the harness, the differences in how non central loading points react and can be utilized in suspension, and safety around all of these topics along the way. Sal learned the base of this harness from an out of town instructor (Ropeasaur) two years ago and has been a regular staple in his ties, adapting the harness with the help of Rope_Amine to suit both of their dynamic and chaotic styles.

• Full suspension rope kit, synthetic upines
• Cutting tool
• At least two carabiners or rings rated for suspension load
• Rated metal for uplines/hangers for smoother transitions
• Comfort items and snacks

Top prerequisites:

Knowledge and experience with: upline management ON BAMBOO as a hard-point, dynamic suspensions and transitions, a suspendable hip harness (or stand alone thigh cage to be used with waist rope), (completion of I-2 studio curriculum preferred), experience communicating in suspension, knowledge of nerve safety. *If you are not sure if you meet the prerequisites for this class, please reach out to your instructors

Bottom prerequisites:

Experience in dynamic suspensions preferred, body awareness in suspension, knowledge of nerve safety, experience communicating in suspension. 

All participants must have a shared understanding of negotiations, consent, and safety. Clarity on boundaries around touch, exposure, and manipulation, and aftercare needs. 

About the Instructors:

Sal (He/Him)

Sal joined the rope community in Denver in April 2023 as a rope top, diving deep into online self learning and local classes. Captivated by the intricate and difficult nature of the art, he finds excitement in playing with and capturing the resilience and strength of his partners. His bread and butter is dynamic suspensions, combining sadism, sensuality, and playfulness to create a unique chaotic style. He loves the connection created by challenging his partners and turning a simple pile of rope into a hot scene.

Rope_Amine (She/They)

Feral (aka rope_amine) s a sadomasochistic switch. They were a casual rope bottom and kinkster for years before deciding to take her ties into her own hands in 2023. They completed the Studio Friction curriculum in early 2024 and have been focused on rigging since then.

She is inspired by rope as a means of self-expression, physical embodiment, mental transcendence, and interpersonal connection. They particularly enjoy combining rope with her love of the outdoors, embracing chaos rope, as well as flying and rigging dynamic suspensions. Her favorite ties blend playful spontaneity with intentionally curated mental and physical challenges.
