Join Camp Friction for a play party and social where you can also learn about how to be part of the 2025 Camp Friction group!

What is Camp Friction? It’s a group of Studio Friction members that brings the joy of rope to Apogaea, Colorado’s regional Burning Man event. The event occurs every summer in June in Valdez, CO and we have participated for the last 2 years, offering Rope 101 classes, tastings, performances, and more!

At this party, we’ll give a brief presentation on Camp Friction and Apogaea and then the rest of the party will be open to socializing, playtime, and shibari. We will not only provide the snacks, we will also provide surprise rope and non-rope performances throughout the night. Join us as we transform the space with art, lights, and live DJs! Remember to bring those bell bottoms and disco moves as we’ll be using this year’s Apogaea theme: Disco Dystopia!

All proceeds go towards the 2025 costs for Camp Friction, which should lower camp dues for members. Want more info on the event? Check out our FAQ or join the #apogaea-camp-friction Discord channel.

Are you interested in performing at the event? While they won’t be officially scheduled, we’re looking for musicians, jugglers, artists, dancers, etc. to spice up the event throughout the night! Reach out to nate@studiofriction.com if you’re interested.

Important event information:

• Registration & payment required online in advance.
• Bring a photo ID that matches the name listed in your online registration for admittance.
• BYOB with mixers and ice in the kitchen. Drink & Play responsibly.
• No refunds or credits on cancellations within 24 hours of event (contact office@studiofriction.com with extenuating circumstances)
• You must be at least 19 years old to attend events at Studio Friction.
