In this class, we will discuss some successful experiences we've had combining suspension and penetrative sex. Some fundamental principles, such as body positioning and sustainability, will be discussed. From there, we'll have several options for different experience levels.

First, a floor tie will be demonstrated, and then we will move on to a suspension sequence that has many poses that can be enjoyed.

This class can be participated in regardless of gender or "organic" nature of the penetrative device. For the purpose of this class, we'll demonstrate ties where the person tying will be doing the penetration and the person in the rope will be on the receiving end.

While our floor tie is available to most skill levels, the suspension is more advanced. This will require sufficient technical ability to perform transitions. Riggers should have suspension experience, knowledge of upline management, and sufficient understanding of tensioning in harnesses. For people being tied, any chest harness that can be loaded from the front, side, and back can be used.

Again, suspension and transition experience is needed for the second half of the class. Please do not tie above your skill level.

Required Pre-requisites & Equipment:

• For Tops: Experience and confidence with multiple suspendable harnesses and with static and dynamic transitions.  Ability to manage unexpected challenges as they arise in a safe manner.

  For bottoms: Experience with transition in suspension and/or ground, deep understanding of your own rope preferences and placement, responses, bodily needs, and limits

  For both: skilled negotiation, communicate, and create physical and emotional safety for partner(s).

• 6-8 hanks of rope, cutting tool, carabiners/rings

About our instructors:

Matt/Shosty9 (he/him) & athena/ghost_sonata (she/her)

Matt has been a part of the Denver rope community since 2018. A true engineer at heart, he is focused more on the "why" of rope, breaking down patterns to understand their interaction. Athena's kink journey began 8 years ago, and she's spent her time exploring power exchange, consent education, giggly masochism, and plenty of time in rope.

Matt and athena are partners in both rope and life as a whole. When their first paths crossed in 2019, they initially discussed tying together in a totally casual context, primarily for Matt's "learning." That context lasted precisely two weeks before they started mapping out their future together. The two thoroughly enjoy teaching as a pair, with athena's extensive bottoming knowledge rounding out Matt's technical tying abilities. Aside from rope, they enjoy primal play, knives, impact, breath play, and fooling the muggles into thinking they're all about vanilla heteronormativity.
