Whether you're brand new to the ropes or you spend more time wrapped in jute than not, somewhere along the line you realized you like getting tied up. What else do you need to know? Actually, a lot! In a community where scenes are often Top-driven, this discussion-based class will look at a variety of different factors that contribute to "knowing yourself" as a rope bottom, and how to use this knowledge to get the most out of your scenes. We'll address things like what type of rope you enjoy, what style of scene you're after, being aware of what works for YOUR body and your own limitations, the importance of lab time for bottoms, evaluating a potential play partner for compatibility, and active negotiation. We'll also explore ways to communicate this knowledge to your play partners to get the scene you want! Bring your experiences and your questions, and be prepared to do some ropy soul searching!

Note: This is a bottom-focused class, but tops are welcome!

About the Instructor:

EbiBex (she/her) is a queer, masochistic bottom advocate and educator who first discovered rope bondage when she was a wee baby kinkster, but in the last decade has been able to fully immerse herself in the rope scene alongside her partner, DWL. She, along with DWL, has participated in and taught at various North American events such as FIRE, Dark Odyssey events, NARIX, Snowbound, and RopeCraft, as well weekend intensives and workshops across the US and internationally. She considers herself very lucky to have learned from, tied and collaborated with some of the best rope people around the world, and is constantly striving to grow as a rope bottom, submissive, and community member. Bex primarily approaches rope as a type of intimate connection and partnership, as well as a form of artistic expression and exploration of suffering. She firmly believes rope bottoming should be accessible to everyone, and hopes sharing her experiences and knowledge will help others on their rope journeys in risk-aware, inclusive, enjoyable ways.
