Intermediate course 1

So you know your 3 rope gote, some leg ties, and a few single columns... Time to start thinking about flying!

Description:

This course builds on the first 2 beginner courses and is the first in the intermediate level. During these four weeks, we will refine the structure and tension of our chest harnesses for suspension, gain an understanding of load line mechanics and safety, tie a mermaid harness that can be suspended, learn about directional suspensions including side, face-up, and face down, and ultimately tie a static suspension.

Requirements:

Working knowledge of the three rope gote (TK), basic negotiation skills, 6-10 - 30' lengths of rope, 3-5 load rated carabiners, or a suspension ring.

About our instructors:

CreativeMayhem (he/him)

CreativeMayhem has been tying for 15 years and is one of the longest tenured rope tops in the Denver community. He has studied, taught, and performed internationally, and teaches regularly at Studio Friction when his schedule allows.

LacyLeather (she/her)

Lacy Leather has been getting tied up for the past 5 years and she teaches regularly with CreativeMayhem.

COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS:

• • All attendees must sign a COVID waiver as part of online registration and submit to a symptom check including a no touch temperature check.
  • Mask optional with proof of full COVID vaccination (e.g. CDC COVID Vaccination Card - original card, clear photograph or photocopy, CIIS immunization record, myVaccine in the myColorado app). The name on your vaccine documentation must match the name on your photo ID. 
  • Full vaccination is defined as a minimum of two weeks post 2nd dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines, or single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
  • You only have to show your vaccination record once. Feel free to email it to office@studiofriction.com ahead of the event if you prefer. We will not be making any copies, just marking that it was checked.
  • Members who are not fully vaccinated, are unvaccinated, or do not wish to show proof of vaccination are still welcome at Studio Friction, but will be asked to wear a mask at all times when in the space.
  • If you need help finding a vaccine or scheduling a vaccine appointment, please reach out to office@studiofriction.com, and we will do our best to help you.
  • • Hand and surface sanitizer will be available throughout the studio.
