Studio Friction Advanced Rope Intensive:

For Wall Intents and Purposes

w/ Smitten & Bean

BOUND Members $40, TIED Members $50, WRAPPED Members $70

Due to limited wall space this class will be limited to 10 tying pairs. Some tying pairs will be double up to take turns transitioning on the wall and spotting each other as space allows with 5 wall point stations. 

Due to this, the event is scheduled to go until 3pm though we expect to end early. Any extra time at the conclusion of class can be used for labbing or socializing

This class will include the suspension and the transition of your bottom from a hard point to the wall, and then will continue to one or two wall transitions and transitioning back to the hardpoint before descending to the floor. All students will be expected to have suspension experience and riggers expected to have experience in basic up-line management. Participants should come prepared to tie a chest harness and a hip harness. An arms front chest harness will be part of the instruction. As always, everyone is welcome to participate up to their own comfort level or just observe the class.

Riggers will need a full rope kit, rigging plate/gear and a few extra carabiners.

In this class we will cover:

• Risks and limitations for bottoms for wall suspension
  
• Brief review of consent and negotiation, partner check in
  
• Negotiating for a spotter
• Arms front chest harness (for the least compression and most comfort for this class an arms front harness is recommended)
  
• Setting up your wall points & gear
  
• Transitioning to the wall and back
  

Instructors:

Smitten – She/Her

Smitten identifies as a queer, kinky, polyam, service, top-leaning rope switch. She has been immersed in the Denver kink and rope community since 2017. She is a perpetual rope student but has also been a rope educator, pretty much since she tied her first single column.

Sugarbean - She/Her

Sugarbean has been bottoming in the Denver kink scene since 2018, specifically rope since 2021. Bean fell in love with rope from the moment it touched her skin. She has taken numerous classes and has been to a couple of rope cons. She loves learning and feeling what her body is capable of in rope.

• Please arrive on time or a bit early so that we can get started promptly.
• Studio friction membership is required to attend to enable us to maintain our 501(c)7 non-profit status (per the IRS we can only earn 30% of our income from non-members). • Masks are not required with proof of vaccination as long as Denver community level remains medium to low. However, if the COVID community level goes back to high, all individuals will be required to wear a mask - per the CDC recommendations. Masks are always required for unvaccinated individuals.
• Registration & payment required online in advance.
• Bring a photo ID that matches the name listed in your online registration for admittance.

• You must be at least 19 years old to attend events at Studio Friction.
