Class Description:

Relationships, especially in kink, can cover a vast spectrum and can be fluid. These relationships can have a wide variety of intents, goals, and outcomes that can shift across time/context.  With whom do you get kinky and ropey? What do you want to experience when you participate and how does that change when you are tying platonically? 

Join platonic rope partners Goodfoxy (she/they) and Kaylee (she/her) as they invite reflection and discussion about navigating the different types of relationships in Shibari and how these relationships effect play/scenes. There will be exercises intended for rope partners so bring a friend! If you are joining solo, alternatives will be provided.

They will also be teaching a quick booty basket tie and, time dependent, will be demonstrating what a platonic scene looks like for them.

About the Instructors: 

GoodFoxy (she/they) has been in love with shibari for close to three years. She was thankfully introduced to it as a bottom by a friend and tied and learned with that friend for some time before stepping into the rope community via Studio Friction. After taking curriculum classes with the intention of bottoming, GoodFoxy soon found a desire to learn to tie quickly becoming clear. And thus began her journey to learn to tie, to find herself as both a bottom and a top, and to joyfully fall deeper in love with shibari. 

GoodFoxy values human connection and complexity, relationship, equity, education, aesthetics, sensory experience, challenge, novelty, and passion (to start ). They identify as a cis, queer/bi, poly, kinky, femme, rope switch who is also a single mom, burlesque dancer, fitness instructor, and psychologist. 

Kaylee (she/her/hers) is a bottom-leaning rope switch who loves to play with rope in many forms.  She has been bottoming regularly for the last two years and began dabbling in topping over the last year.  She also enjoys a good self-suspension now and then. Although generally quiet at first, when you get her talking about rope she just might not shut up, especially now that she can speak from both sides of the slash.
