About the class:

This unique class will give you the opportunity to learn two chest harness patterns in one session. While each of these harnesses is suspendible they are also very useful for ground ties. We will split the class in half and take turns at each station. 

The Dude will teach an arms free diamond (hishi) pattern:

There are many ways to approach a hishi or diamond pattern. This arms free harness works great in most positions. Loading it in partially inverted positions can make the shoulder straps uncomfortable though. Tensioning and placements are key in this suspendible Karada pattern.  

Switchtext and Goddess_Sphinx will teach what has recently been named the mantis harness:

This harness is a prayer hands (get it?) arms front pattern. It’s a great pattern for a first time rope experience as it feels safe and comforting. It’s also a go-to for first suspensions as it is safer, more comfortable, and not exposing like many other patterns.

Prerequisites:

Basic knowledge of a single column tie and basic frictions will help you follow along with the class, but you may be able to gather these as you go.

Equipment:

Every tying pair will need about 3-4 (8 meter or similar) lengths of rope in good condition, and a cutting implement. An aftercare blanket and/or pillow is optional but nice to have.

About our instructors:

TheDude (He, Him)

TheDude has been tying for a long time and learned most all of his knowledge through local rope events. He enjoys helping build the community, and can also be found at local parties and events tying fairly regularly when covid isn’t a downer.

Switchtext (He, Him) 

Switchtext is a designer,  a co-founder and creative director of Studio Friction. He is more interested in sensations and understanding the elements of rope bondage than mastering someone’s specific pattern. Switchtext has been tying for 14 years. He has learned so much in that time and enjoys knowing he has so much more to learn. 

Goddess_Sphinx (She, Her)

is an eclectic kinkster who recently started a love affair with rope bondage. She strives to bring a deep presence and enthusiasm to each moment and loves to seek out new experiences. A fan of bondage and power dynamics, she brings to the table a strong knowledge of how bodies and minds work. Goddess_Sphinx continues to work towards achieving integration of her kinky self and revels in her journey. 

IMPORTANT, for our friends safety and health:

• All attendees must register and pay online to reduce exposure for our volunteers at the door

• All attendees must sign a covid waiver and submit to a symptom check including a no touch temperature check

• All attendees must wear masks in the studio at all times per the Colorado state mandate

• Please bring your own mat and rope, mats and rope will not be available from the studio

• The studio will be disinfected after each event, and commonly touched surfaces will be cleaned during the event

• Hand sanitizer and surface sanitizer will be available thru out the studio
