This month: INTRO TO SELF TYING & Rope Jam
Queering rope sometimes means learning how to get your own desires and needs met. This month, Nil will share some tips and tricks to begin self-tying as well as a self-tie series to begin the building blocks for play and self-suspension. This is an all levels class with variations offered for differing experience levels. No partner needed!!
There will also be space to tie together, practice on your own, or just socialize in our rope jam open space.
Knotty queers is a gathering of kinky, witchy, rowdy queers sharing an interest in rope bondage and bringing more vibrant queerness to the Colorado BDSM scene. We are space for people with queer and non-normative identities to learn skills, discuss related topics, and share in our kinky passions. Knotty queers is open to everyone regardless of experience. Our aim is to create safer spaces for folks to explore bdsm, kink, and rope bondage and carve out space for a more queer presence in the larger Colorado BDSM community.
This is a Studio Friction Partner event, all payments will be cash and collected at the door.
About our host _Nil:
Raised in the womb of Colorado’s mountain majesties, _Nil is a non-binary, queer witch and curator of spiritual-sexual synchronicity. Nil is of both the earth and the celestial, carved from the rigid geometry of crystal formations, and cradled in the craters of the moon. They are consecrated as one with the mystic and the erotic, interweaving the sacred into practice and play, and are a proud purveyor of all things creepy and curious. Nil first found love in the natural fibers of a well spun rope while at Girl Scout camp, and they’ve been tying ever since. Always a crystal in one hand and rope in the other, Nil regards kink as the ultimate artistic catharsis and uses their craft to banish gender, fracture binaries, and conjure queerness to challenge the norm. As an advocate for infiltrating the kink community with radical expressions of gender and identity, Nil endeavors to surge the presence of queer and non-normative bodies in BDSM culture. Nil is currently pursuing a PhD and believes in the power of knowledge. Whether in a group workshop or a one on one exchange, Nil will arm you with their arsenal of BDSM geek-ery. Nil is a Denver based sex therapist and educator, and can be found teaching, performing, and playing with Denver Bound, Boulder Burlesque, and Studio Friction. They are the founder of “knotty queers”, host workshops and curate performances about queer inclusivity, working with energy and magic in play, and modifying rope work for queer and trans bodies.
